Dr. Wendelken is graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  He received his bachelor's degree in molecular biology from William Paterson University. He also has earned a degree in nursing and is an emergency room nurse.  Dr. Wendelken is a noted lecturer, published author, and has produced a number of instructional videos on podiatric sonography.  He has been awarded 5 United States Patents and has other patents pending involving diagnostic ultrasound.  SoundSeal® protective film dressing and the HydroStep® standoff pad for ultrasound are two of the developments.   One of the patents is a novel method of imaging wounds using diagnostic ultrasound (Wound-Mapping™ Ultrasonic Assessment Method)

He is also directly responsible for the development of BioVisual's newest innovative product, PictZar®-CDM, a simple but precise software program used to make measurements on digital photographs.  The software application has found an immediate home within the wound care community for monitoring chronic wounds and skin lesions.  PictZar® is currently be used world wide in many applications in addition to wound care. In addition, the software is currently being used in numerous FDA clinical studies.

Dr. Wendelken's history includes being a consultant to a number of ultrasound companies and is a principal in BioVisual Technologies LLC.  Dr. Wendelken is currently part of an elite wound care team led by Oscar M. Alvarez, PhD. at the Center for Palliative and Curative Wound Care, Calvary Hospital, New York, NY.  He is an adjunct professor at Temple University's School of Podiatric Medicine teaching diagnostic ultrasound.   Dr. Wendelken is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association (FAPWCA), the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVT) and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC).
